Sheriff: 1 Dead As 11 People Overdose In Central Florida

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) — Police are investigating at least 11 overdoses that resulted in one death in Cape Canaveral and Merritt Island.

Officials said in a news release that they've launched an investigation into the overdoses, which occurred Monday.

The overdoses appear to be heroin-related, according to the release.

No further details were immediately available.
