SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – Sunrise has a new "Sheriff" in town, and the BB&T Center will be his headquarters.

That "Sheriff" is 18-year-old left wing Lawson Crouse who the Florida Panthers selected with the 11th pick in the 2015 NHL draft.

Crouse, a power forward, stands at 6'4" and a very hearty 213 pounds.

Last season he led the Kingston Frontenacs in goals (29) and points (51).

He was a member of Canada's gold medal-winning team at the 2015 World Junior Championship.

His Frontenacs' teammates honored him with the nickname "The Sheriff" because he would look out for them.
