MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Sports lovers and pet lovers are coming together Saturday all in the name of finding a home for furry friends.

The Marlins Adopt-O-Mania pet adoption event is back again this year at Marlins Park.

Before Saturday's game, a group of pet "recruits" will be helping dogs and cats find a loving new home.

Those who adopt a new furry friend will get game tickets for two people and one dog for the Marlins versus Rockies game.

Adoption fees will be 50 percent off for dogs over four months old and all cats and kittens.

All of the pets adopted are spayed or neutered, given age appropriate routine vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped.

"This event is a great opportunity for Miami Marlins fans - and all the pet lovers in our community to adopt a dog or cat and share our commitment to saving the lives of shelter pets" said Alex Muñoz," Director of Miami-Dade County Animal Services.

The event started at 10 a.m. and lasts until 6 p.m.
