MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- An accused sex offender was allowed to move to a new home on Thursday after he had been living with an elected public official.

Stanley "Junior" Kowlessar arrived in court on Thursday, looking for a new place to live.

For more than two months, the accused pedophile has lived with Palmetto Bay Vice Mayor John Dubois at his bay front mansion on a sprawling compound.

Kowlessar's  dad, Stanley Senior, is a friend and political supporter of the vice mayor.

Dubois has supported his friend's son and insisted on his innocence but after CBS4's coverage of the vice mayor's allegedly felonious house guest, Junior's attorney on Thursday asked the judge to let him move to a family friend's home in Palmetto Bay.

Prosecutors objected to this.

"His new home is in a residential neighborhood. It is closely situated with houses on all sides on all streets. There is a park nearby. The state's concern is that there are children all over this area. My concern is for the community, " said a prosecutor Jarret McNeill.

Citing additional alleged victims that have come forward, the state asked that Kowlessar's bond be revoked, but the judge permitted the new housing of the alleged pedophile.

The vice mayor had asked for the change.

"Unfortunately, the attention brought to the families because of the news coverage has been damaging to all so, I think this is a good next step.

Dubois has not backed away from his belief that "Junior" Kowlessar is innocent, did not break into a Palmetto Bay home in February and molest a little girl in the middle of the night.

"Junior" Kowlessar is on an ankle monitor. He is allowed to travel to only to and from work and  school and therapy. He has to give regular urine tests.

If he violates any of the terms, he could be rearrested until his trial which is now set for August.
