"Versailles" Daughter Struggled With Drugs Before Her Death

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — The daughter of the couple featured in the documentary "Queen of Versailles" struggled with a drug addiction in the weeks before her death, according to the family's attorney.

Victoria Siegel, 18, was the oldest of seven children of time-share mogul David Siegel and his wife Jackie.

Siegel was found by deputies at the family's home in Windermere on Saturday afternoon. She was declared dead at a nearby hospital.

Attorney Michael Marder said in a statement Tuesday that Victoria Siegel had recently undergone voluntary rehabilitation to shake her dependence on the drug that was used to control her seizures. He says it is likely she ingested one or more drugs before she died.

Autopsy results haven't yet been released.

David and Jackie Siegel starred in the 2012 documentary "Queen of Versailles" which chronicled their effort to build a 90,000-square-foot mansion, as well as their extravagant lifestyle.

David Siegel later sued the film's maker for "false and defamatory statements," but lost the lawsuit in March 2014.
