HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) - A registered sex offender who lives in Homestead was re-arrested after two minor girls told police he had solicited them for naked pictures in exchange for cash.

Joseph Siddall, 78, appeared in bond court Tuesday, and told the judge he was a war veteran and had suffered from PTSD. Siddall was ordered held on a $10,000 bond, plus house arrest.

Events that led to the arrest stem from an incident on May 5, 2015 when police say the mother of one of the girls confronted him. Police say the mother was upset when she learned her daughter had contemplated suicide after sending him nude photographs. The mother told authorities Siddall had been known to the family since her daughter was born.

When police confronted him, Siddall told authorities that he had talked about sex and sex acts with the 15-year-old girl, but denied ever touching her.

Siddall had purchased a cellphone for the minor as a birthday present and then began to solicit nude photographs of her, according to the arrest form. The investigation also revealed Siddall had allegedly been paying another 15-year-old girl to send him naked pictures of her.

In 1994, Siddall was convicted of lewd and lascivious behavior with a minor.
