Red Cross Offers Locals Free Disaster Training

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The American Red Cross is calling on South Floridians to be prepared just in case disaster strikes.

For their third year, the organization is offering free training for a day on Saturday  for those wanting to volunteer, respond to and recover from disasters.

The day-long training will not only prepare volunteers to support hurricane relief, but will also help them in preparing their families and themselves for hurricane season.

The training will also provide individuals with the training needed to be invaluable volunteers who can make a difference in their communities when a disaster strikes.

The training starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.
