TALLAHASEE (CBSMiami/NSF) --  Amid a battle over hospital funding,  a panel created by Florida Governor Rick Scott will meet next week at the Capitol.

The meeting next Thursday of the Commission on Healthcare and Hospital Funding will be the third session for the panel.

Scott formed the commission as lawmakers grapple with issues such as a proposed expansion of health coverage for hundreds of thousands of uninsured Floridians and questions about funding for the Low Income Pool health program. Those issues have been at the center of a budget impasse that will force lawmakers to hold a special session that starts Monday and could last until June 20th.

Next Thursday's meeting of the Scott commission will start at 8 a.m. in the Cabinet meeting room, according to the commission website.
