Since the state now owns some of the land, officials are trying to pinpoint the location of the graves to stop further destruction while they consider future improvements to the highway.
The focus will be on the graves that run beside I-95, because officials say it is impossible to know if bodies are buried under the roadway without impacting traffic to do surveys or digging up the highway.MORE NEWS: COVID-19 Testing Site Finder
