HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) --  Homestead Police have released a sketch of man they said tried to abduct a child after school.

Police said a man in a gray, older model Nissan Altima approached a 12-year old who was waiting for his mother at Miami Arts Charter School on the afternoon of May 15th.

"He sat down and waits for me and he said he was approached by a man," said the boy's mother who didn't want to reveal her identity.

The driver told the child, "hey kid your mom wants me to come pick you up."

The child told the driver he was going to have to call his mother to check.

"He said, 'Mom there's a strange man here.' He was very calm until I told him he needed to get someone immediately and then of course he started to freak out," said the boy's mother.

He was wearing a black baseball cap and dark sunglasses at the time of the incident.
