MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Norwegian Dawn cruise ship left Bermuda for Boston Wednesday afternoon after running into trouble at sea the night before.

The 92,000 ton cruise ship hit a reef and was stuck off the coast of Bermuda for more than six hours overnight before a rising tide managed to push it back into deep water.

Company officials say the cruise ship resumed its voyage after crew members and dive teams inspected the hull of the ship and found no structural damage.

Norwegian Cruise Line says all 3500 passengers and crew are safe.

Aaron and Erica Alger are celebrating their honeymoon on the ship with friends from South Florida.

"All of a sudden, the ship started shuddering and shaking like driving a truck over a lot of gravel and then you felt the vessel come to an abrupt stop," said Alger.

Rachel Hansen from New Hampshire is on board the ship,

"The captain came over the PA system and told us that we had lost steering on the cruise ship and as a result of that we ran up on a coral reef," said Hansen.

The ship has had a number of power failures in the past including an outage two years ago that left it disabled in the ocean for nearly two hours.

The ship is scheduled to arrive in Boston on Friday.

Passengers said  the cruise line is offering them a discount on a future cruise.
