MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins may be preparing for the NFL Draft that is coming up later this week, but the franchise is still taking time to give back to the community.

On Tuesday the Dolphins will announce they are entering into a $1 million partnership with City Year at an event at Norland High School in Miami Gardens.

Through the educational pillar of their foundation, the Dolphins are making a commitment to help young people who are working to transform education through City Year.

City Year is an education-focused organization that partners with high need public schools across the country.  Their teams of 17 to 24 year old members are there to support students by focusing on attendance, behavior and course performance through in-class support, tutoring, mentoring and after school programs.

Their main goal is to keep kids in school and on the right track to success.

The Dolphins $1 million partnership will fund City Year school teams in multiple Miami Gardens schools. The teams will be funded by monies raised from Fins Weekend, the team's largest annual event featuring current players, alumni, coaches and cheerleaders.

Attending Tuesday's event will be Dolphins President and CEO Tom Garfinkel, special advisor Dan Marino and Sr. Vice President of Special Projects and Alumni Relations Nat Moore, amongst others.
