FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – An argument between a Margate husband and wife ended with gunfire and handcuffs.

Police were called to a home at 6822 Dogwood Lane around 7 a.m. to check on a report of a shooting. When they arrived they found a Jean-Zon Ward, 28, with a bullet wound in his shoulder.

Ward had reportedly been arguing with his wife Kary Bailey , according to police, when she grabbed a gun and shot him in the shoulder.

“The husband then was still able to walk, he went over to a neighbor’s residence and that’s how the police were contacted,” Margate police Lt. Jon Shaw

Ward was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Taken away in handcuffs, Bailey is facing an attempted murder charge.

Police say Bailey’s daughter was in the home at the time of the shooting.
