MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A man was taken into custody after he reportedly tried to sexually assault a woman in front of her apartment building.

The woman, who is in her 70s, was attacked in the entrance way to the lobby of the Nautilus Towers apartments at 41st Street and Jefferson Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Miami Beach police officers, who were in the area investigating a traffic accident, heard the woman’s screams for help.

When they ran to the building they saw 26-year old Frankie Moicon attempting to rape the woman, according to police.

Moicon was charged with attempted sexual battery, battery on the elderly and resisting arrest.

The woman, who suffered a cut on her head in the attack, was taken to the hospital.

Moicon is expected to make his first appearance in court on Monday.
