Broussard on the Heat: 'Rest in Peace'

Chris Broussard flooded the Miami airwaves this week with his typical anti-Heat jargon, something he tends to do during his weekly appearances on the Marc Hochman Show with Zach Krantz.

"There's nothing to say about the Heat," Broussard opined on WQAM. "Let the Heat rest in peace."

Talking to a Heat-centric audience about burying their most beloved team is a great way to help diffuse the disdain within the hearts of Miamians.

"At least I'm not as hated as Windhorst, so I guess I can take some satisfaction in that," he said.

They talked some about the Heat's future, sure, but with next season so far away the conversation turned towards his personal life.

Who are Broussard's best buds at ESPN?

"I've got a lot of friends up there. I'm close with Stephen. A, I've known him since '95," Broussard said. "When you're up here, it's not like we're all just hanging up here. I do see the NFL guys a lot. Tedy Bruschi and Brian Dawkins and Mark Brunell. They're doing Sportscenter while I'm doing Sportscenter. I see Legler a lot. Legler and I are really cool. Bruce Bowen and I are really cool. Of course the other NBA writers -- Marc Stein, Brian Windhorst. I don't think there's one I could rank as number one. Michael Smith's a good friend from His and Hers. Skip Bayless, believe it or not, Skip and I are really cool."

Asked who Broussard loathes at work, and the NBA insider declined.

You can listen to the entertaining, sometimes irreverent, Broussard every Tuesday afternoon on 560 WQAM.
