MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Locals looking for a furry friend as an addition to a loving home, can do so this weekend for free.

Miami-Dade Animal Services will offer furry felines and playful pups but adoptees will not have to pay up on Saturday.

All this thanks to Animal Planet and the ASPCA who will be covering the adoption fees, including the cost for license tags.

While the adoption fees will be waived, this is on a first come first serve basis as long as funds remain.

There will also be giveaways for those who attend.

Those interested in providing a forever home to a furry friend can stop by Miami-Dade County Animal Services until 4:00 p.m.
