CBS4 Sources: Convicted Felon Arrested In Southwest Georgia

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A convicted drug dealer, from the days of the Cocaine Cowboys, is now in federal custody.

Sources tell CBS4 News that Robert Hawkins was captured in Fort Gaines, Georgia.

Hawkins was featured in CBS4's Fugitive Task Force Series back in February of 2013.

During the series, Hawkins was let out of federal prison on parole more than half a decade ago, but never returned.

Hawkins was convicted in three separate federal drug cases from 1979 to 1982.

He only served about 15 years of his 35-year prison sentence, before getting paroled.

Sources tell CBS4 News they got him because he used a fake identity.
