MIAMI (CBSMiami) - North Miami police are investigating the shooting that happened just after midnight where two people were shot and transported to Ryder trauma center.

"it was very terrifying it was traumatizing" said Rebecca Bein-Aime one of the victims.

Just after midnight Bein-Aime says she was walking from her car parked outside your apartment at 14895 N. E. 18th Ave. when shots rang out she tried running to the elevator but never made it.

"I already felt like I caught one in the leg I kept running until I could not run anymore I started knocking on peoples doors but nobody opened they were scared no one helped me". said Bein-Aime.

She got shot in the leg, another man, 23-year old Gerdson Lubin, was also injured. Both were airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center. Bein-Aime was treated and released. Lubin remains at the hospital for observation.

Hours later Bein-Aime returned to the scene of the crime where the doors and windows of the lobby where shattered and investigators still gathered evidence.

Two other vehicles were also shot up in the parking lot and another a few blocks away.

Police believe there were multiple shooters involved who arrived at the apartment in a silver, older-model Nissan Altima, and a black Pontiac Grand Prix.

This is not the first time there has been violence at the apartment complex. On January 25th, 30-year-old Vinel Lamour, a security guard, was fatally shot in the guard shack. Loudy Joseph, 21, was arrested in connection with that crime.

After this latest shooting, residents are saying enough is enough.

"I don't feel safe here anymore there's too much going on I have a child and I don't feel that anybody is doing much here is too much killing here and I don't feel safe," said Gekvia Deloach resident.

North Miami Police are still investigating and not getting much about the crime. They're asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
