Pembroke Pines Police said Roden had reported  Sydell Roden, 83, and Sylvan Roden, 85, as missing on Wednesday at 11 p.m.

"I went to their room and they're both missing and they're never out ever," Roy Roden said.

He had last seen them on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. He said both of them were dependent on medication.

"Mom takes pain pills, dad's had three or four heart attacks. They're both on a lot of medications," said Roden.

The couple had last been spotted at 6:16 AM Thursday morning going southbound on the Turnpike Golden Glades.

Authorities said the couple was traveling in a 2005 tan Toyota Corolla with the Florida tag number "YOSXY."

Just before 1:30 AM, toll booth cameras caught the couple getting off the turnpike at the US 27 Okeechobee Road exit. Around 6:16 AM Thursday morning, another camera captured them heading southbound on the Turnpike near the Golden Glades Interchange.

The couple's son said his father hasn't driven in years and his mother only drives very short distances.

"The other day it took her two hours to do a five minute trip because she told me she got lost. At that point I said 'Mom you're going to have to give up your keys," he said.

Roy Roden said he almost took her keys away at that point.

"I''m upset I didn't take the keys but hindsight's 20/20 they're not going to drive anymore. That's for sure," said Roden

It's not clear how the couple ended up in Miami Gardens, but Roden said he was just relieved his parents had been found.
