MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- There was a chill in the air at the Thompson Hotel Friday afternoon as star chef and restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian hosted his live Food Talk radio show on Sirius XM.

But the celebrity chefs and TV stars such as Rachel Ray and Anne Burrell could not have been warmer or happier to be there .

"When I left home at 3:30 am, it was minus 8 with a wind chill factor of minus 20, so I am feeling really good about being here. I'm really good" joked Ray.

"Everyone says this is like Spring Break for Chefs and it is so I can't say what really goes on " joked Anne Burrell.

The live radio show was all about this weekend's 14th annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival. Geoffrey Zakarian has been here since the beginning.

"We are in an industry that is about nothing but good will. We all devote to work and charity and helping people eat better . To me this is the summit of good will," said Geoffrey.

Meantime, over at the tasting tents on Ocean Drive and 10th street for trade day, South Beach looked more like The Rocky Mountains, as bundled up guests enjoyed the fanfare of product promotion. Yes, the festival is fun, but it's also business.

"It's really about having a lot of fun and getting exposure to both to industry people consumers and have fun while doing it," said Doug Banks from Quipe Wines.

Trade day is the day for buyer and sellers to check out anything drinkable and edible.

"I love coming because I meet new people and new ideas for the upcoming year. It's a great place to be great and great vibe," said Jackie Parker, a private caterer.

"And its not a bad thing to eat good food and drink great wine right?" asked CBS4's Lisa Petrillo .

"Its never a bad thing never at all, at all!" said Stacey Parker.

Petrillo found a group of ladies who were working hard, or perhaps - hardly working.

"Every year my dad , who is in the business gets us these tickets so we can have a girls day out and dad pulled through again," said a happy wine tasting guest.

And Rachel Ray pulled through again as host of the 9th annual Amstel Light Burger Bash

"It's sold out for yet another year, 4000 tickets. So we're blessed. It does a lot of good. While people are filling up with a lot of burgers and beers its paying it forward," Ray said.
