One of the cool things about going to a sports game is that sometimes there will be a giveaway for the attending fans.  Often times there are a limited number of items that are given out on a first-come first-served basis, but let's be honest, that usually isn't a problem for fans in South Florida.

The Miami Marlins will kick off their 2015 campaign on April 6th when they host the Atlanta Braves at Marlins Park and yes, there will be a giveaway.  In total, there will be 15 giveaway items this season, including one on every Sunday home game.  Earlier this week the entire giveaway schedule was released and there are some really cool items on the list.  Here are the top giveaways for the 2015 Marlins season.

April 26th: Christian Yelich Replica Gold Glove Trophy (first 10,000 fans)

June 28th: 2003 World Series Championship Replica Ring (first 10,000 fans)

July 12th: Henderson Alvarez Bobblehead (first 10,000 fans)

September 6th: Marcell Ozuna Bobblehead (first 10,000 fans)

September 13th: Jose Fernandez Figurine (first 10,000 fans)

There are also a few 'kids only' giveaways. Last season, the Marlins gave out Julio the Octopus plush dolls. Julio is one of the four participants in The Great Sea Race, which takes place between the top and bottom of the 6th inning during every home game.  This season the Marlins are giving away Bob the Sea Shark plush dolls on May 3rd for the first 5,000 kids.  Perhaps the Spike the Sea Dragon and Angel the Stone Crab plush dolls will be given away in the coming years.

One really cool giveaway that's just for the youngsters takes place on May 24th when the Marlins will give batting practice jackets to the first 5,000 kids.

The other giveaway that's just for the little ones is a Giancarlo Stanton growth chart, which will be for the first 5,000 kids on May 17th.

The day that the Marlins are giving out the 2003 World Series championship replica ring, June 28th, is actually Josh Beckett Appreciation Day.  Beckett announced his retirement following the 2014 season, his 14th in the majors.

Another thing the Marlins are doing this season is having a series of heritage nights and theme nights.  Heritage nights include Japanese, Venezuelan, Jewish and Hispanic, to name a few.

The theme nights will take place on Friday's and should be a lot of fun.  Amongst the various themes are Zombie, Mardi Gras, Nickelodeon, Christmas in July, Star Wars and Back to the Future.
