NORTH MIAMI BEACH(CBSMiami)---Detectives from North Miami Beach are trying to solve a new mystery involving the body of a young woman whose body was found inside a black Jetta in a residential neighborhood.

The neighborhood around the car at N.E. 14th Ave. and N.E. 157th St. was sealed off by yellow crime scene tape as investigators searched for evidence.

A neighbor who said he saw the woman's body told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that she appeared to be between 24 and 25 years old, had long black hair and was white or Hispanic.

"I am also guessing that she was about 5 foot 7 inches tall," said the neighbor who did not want to give his name.  "She was wearing a light shirt and I did not see any bruises on her or any blood. This was just horrible."

Neighbors told D'Oench that they had seen the Jetta in their neighborhood since somewhere between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. last Sunday. But they said they didn't think anything of it until Tuesday afternoon. That's when a call came in to police.

"About 12:35 we received a call about a sick or injured person and when we checked we found the woman deceased in the vehicle," said North Miami Beach Police detective Cora Mann. "That's all we know right now. Everything is under investigation."

Mann said the woman was young but could not say how old she was or say what race she was. She said there were no apparent signs of foul play such as stab or gunshot wounds.

She said police were looking into reports of missing persons.

They also set up an Incident Command Center. As of late Tuesday afternoon, no relatives of the woman had come to the crime scene.

Neighbor Natalie St. Nattis said, "I think this is shocking. It happened to close to home. I want to find out what happened. I hope it was not foul play. Can the police tell us what happened. I have kids that walk up and down this neighborhood. I am scared. This is a mystery. We just don't know."

Late Tuesday afternoon, the black Jetta was out on a flatbed trailer and then taken to the Miami-Dade Medical Exaimer's Office so investigators could look for clues.

Detective Mann said anyone with information that can help solve this case should call North Miami Beach Police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305)
471-TIPS (8477).
