Pompano Beach Woman Stabbed, Slashed & Sliced Fights Off Attacker

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – A park employee said she was arriving to her next job when she was viciously stabbed and slashed at by a man on Tuesday night.

DaJuan Johnson, 35, said she was nearing her work site at Weaver Community Park, located at 800 N.W. 20th St. While cleaning the park's restroom, DaJuan Johnson said she was approached by Davonte Johnson – who asked her to use the bathroom.

According to the arrest form, before DaJuan Johnson could answer, Davonte Johnson grabbed her neck and pinned her against the wall.

Davonte Johnson, 22, allegedly stabbed DaJuan Johnson on the back and slashed the left side of her neck.

DaJuan Johnson told authorities when she began to fight back, Davonte Johnson stabbed her in the left eye.

After she fell to the floor, DaJuan Johnson said Davonte Johnson began making stabbing motions at her head. She said she grabbed the blade with both hands, but her fingers where sliced when Davonte Johnson pulled the knife back.

As DaJuan Johnson kept fighting for her life, the knife fell on the floor and she picked it up. She started making stabbing motions at Davonte Johnson, but he fled the restroom.

Broward Sheriff's deputies canvassed the areas and witness provided a description matching Davonte Johnson.

After he was arrested at 103 S.W. 3rd St., Davonte Johnson reportedly admitted to police he attacked DaJuan Johnson with a knife.

Detective said the weapon used was a large kitchen knife.

Davonte Johnson was in bond court on Thursday and is facing a premeditated murder charge.

According to BSO, DaJuan Johnson is still in the hospital and will likely lose her eye.
