MIAMI (CBSMiami) —  One woman is dead following a crash  involving a tractor trailer and another vehicle Thursday morning.

Family said the woman who died was 54-year old Susie Mae Gordon. They said she was on her way to work as a security guard at Miami Beach Senior High  when the crash happened at NW 22nd Ave and 79th Street.

Miami-Dade traffic homicide investigators say Gordon was driving west on NW 79th Street and tried to make a left onto 22nd Avenue when the tractor trailer, headed East on 79th Street and slammed into her car.

Officers said she died on the scene.

According to the family, the driver of the truck is Jorge Argenal.

Police said, per preliminary investigation, they don’t believe the driver of the truck will be ticketed or charged.
