MIAMI (CBSMiami) — It’s safe to swim at Oleta River State Park again. A swimming ban issued last week for the surrounding waters has been lifted.

The ban had gone into effect on Tuesday when the Florida Department of Health issued an advisory after 1.2 to 1.6 million gallons of untreated waste water was released into the nearby waters after heavy rains.

The department conducted a water test near the Northeast Miami-Dade recreation area and deemed it safe on Sunday.
