MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- A bouncer arrested for allegedly beating a tourist unconscious bailed out of jail Saturday.

Cody Quaife, 34, turned himself in Friday afternoon just hours after the tourist's family plead for the information on the culprit.

A witness told police that Quaife, unprovoked, punched 22-year old Youness Adlan in the face on New Years. As Adlan fell to the ground, his head struck the sidewalk outside of Cameo Night Club.

For the past 2 weeks Najem Adlan has been by his son's bedside at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

"I need my son to be better," said Najem Adlan. "This situation is too hard for me, for his mom, for all the people who knew him he was a very good boy."

The father is hoping his son will pull through and that justice comes to the suspect.

"I believe in America.  I believe in police.  I believe in justice.  I need help to know what's happened to our son," said Najem Adlan.

Late Friday night, the family released this statement to CBS4's Travell Eiland:

"We greatly appreciate the hard work of the Miami Beach Police Department, the Miami Beach Community and the media covering this tragedy. All of their hard work clearly led to the arrest of the individual you attacked Youness."
