MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Residents of a West Miami-Dade apartment complex are shaken up Thursday after a young man was found dead inside a parked car.

Crime tape roped off the GolfView apartment complex off Flagler and 97th Avenue after Carlos Zuloeta, 25, was found shot dead inside a parked Toyota Corolla, according to police.

A woman who lives at the complex, according to police, saw the man in the driver's seat of the car. She noticed his head was bloody and tried to help—but once she realized how severe his injuries were, she called 9-1-1.

"Once the officer arrived they found a white Latin male between the ages of 20 and 30 with apparently blunt trauma to the head," said Daniel Ferrin with  Miami-Dade Police Wednesday.

Zuloeta attended college in Peru. He and his wife, Carla, apparently owned a company called Zuloeta Distribution Corp.

Zuloeta had one serious arrest on his record, a charge last year of dealing in stolen property. Police won't say if the previous arrest had anything to do with his murder.

A spokesperson for Miami-Dade Police said investigators are "following several leads."

Resident Ivan Caminero, following Wednesday's discovery, does not feel safe.

"The thought it could have been anybody--it could have been me. It's just not safe anymore," said Caminero.

Ivo Dafre is also on edge, hoping the crime has nothing to do with the community.

"It's a little scary but sure it's gonna be some sort of personal, I'm hoping it's some sort of personal confrontation and nothing to do with the community," said Dafre.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
