BOCA RATON (CBSMiami) – Cars pulled up and dozens of agents came running out of their cars in front of a Boca Raton office building on Wednesday.

FBI agents, IRS, and local police raided the offices of Med-Care Diabetic and Medical Supplies at 9:30 a.m.

The cars pulled up and about 40 agents stepped out and raided the building," says witness Tyler Wilson who works next door.

In a moment where life imitated art, the company's Executive Vice President Danny Porush  just happens to be one of the players who helped inspire the hit movie, The Wolf of Wall Street. The character portrayed in the film by Jonah Hill is loosely based on Porush.

Porush had no comment leaving the building on Clint Moore road in a Rolls Royce.

The FBI won't comment on what they were looking for.  Agents could be seen removing boxes and files. An attorney for the company said they were executing a search warrant.

FBI agents blocked the doors of surrounding offices.

"And the FBI  came in and said that we could not get out through the door and use the door on our breaks. That was not fun," said witness Fabiana Mallory.

"For a time we knew something was going to happen from what we've heard.  We've worked next door for a while now.... We knew something was going to happen. It was just a matter of time and today was the day," said Wilson.

The former stock broker was convicted of securities fraud and money laundering ten years ago. Porush served 39 months in prison. After his release, he became involved in the medical supply and equipment company.

It was the subject of a congressional hearing on Medicare fraud in 2013.

"It's actually kind of comical to see what was presented in the movie and who was working next door to you and then you know it's kind of repeating itself," said Wilson.

Last year Porush and five others were named in a suit alleging Medicare fraud but the case was dismissed for a lack of proof.

No one was arrested in the raid.

The company's lawyer said they are cooperating.

"Med-Care has fully cooperated in all regulatory inquiries that it has gotten and this inquiry is no different from any other one....The company has nothing to hide," said Med-Care Attorney Justin Weddle.
