MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A 67-year-old fisherman has gone missing south of Key West.

Coast Guard search-and-rescue crews are looking for Dennis Dallmeyer, 67, of Key West.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Key West received report from a friend of Dallmeyer that he was on a 25-foot vessel, fishing around Key West.

When the friend reported that Dallmeyer had not returned, the search ensued and an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast (UMIB) was issued. Response boatcrew launched from Station Key West as well as an aircraft from Air Station Miami.

A commercial salvage vessel responded to the UMIB and located the Dallmeyer’s vessel eight nautical miles south of Key West with the keys in the ignition.

The 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter Alligator is on scene assisting with the search.
