MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – A man was rushed to the hospital early Thursday morning after he was found nearly beaten to death outside a South Beach nightclub, police said.

CBS4’s news partner the Miami Herald reported that around 5 a.m., a friend found the unidentified man on Española Way between Washington and Collins avenues, outside the Cameo nightclub. He was taken to Ryder Trauma Center and is now in a coma.

Detectives are still trying to determine whether the man had been inside the nightclub, and exactly who may have inflicted the beating.
