Chopper Crashes Yards Away From Lantana Airport

PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) – An investigation is under way after a helicopter crashed just north of Lantana Airport, authorities said.

The chopper went down at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, just 100 yards from the airport.

According to the Palm Beach Post, one person died and the other was critically injured.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Fire Rescue and the FAA are all responding to the scene.

No additional information was available at this time.
