MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Surveillance cameras inside an Overtown food store captured the moments after three people were shot on Christmas night.

"It's very sad. It's horrible. That could've been my son. These shooting needs to stop," said a woman who lives blocks away from where the shooting happened.

According to police, the shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Thursday outside the Express Food Center at 467 NW 8th Street.

Two of the shooting victims, 35-year-old James Brown and 38-year-old Charlie Williams, were transported by Miami Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Ryder Trauma.

Ralf Martin, 21, was taken to the hospital by someone who was on the scene, according to police.

Brown, police said, died at the hospital.

"He was one of my best customers and friend. I knew him when he was like 10 years old. It's a shock to me. I lost more than a brother. He was the nicest guy you could talk to," said store owner Fahmi Abu Gazlea.

The store owner said Brown could be seen in the surveillance video rush from outside back inside the store. Seconds after he was shot he fell over a customer, knocked him to the ground, and then made his way to the back of the store.

Family and friends rushed to the Ryder trauma Center. Many broke down in tears after hearing doctors could not save Brown.

Outside the convenience store, teddy bears and a cardboard sign with hundred messages for Brown have been placed in his memory.

Police are still working the scene to find more information regarding the shooting.

"My heart goes out to the family any time this happens. It's a tragedy. Too many of young folks are dying for no reason, it's heartbreaking," said a patron.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Miami Police Department's Homicide Unit at (305) 603-6350. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at (305) 471- TIPS (8477).
