Although the Miami Hurricanes finished 6-6 this season, two immensely talented seniors received some national recognition today for their outstanding play this season.

Linebacker Denzel Perryman and tight end Clive Walford have been named third-team All-Americans by the Associated Press, the team announced Tuesday. Perryman led the team with 102 tackles (8.5 tackles for loss), with an astonishing 343 career tackles heading into the Independence Bowl.

Walford tallied personal bests in catches (44), yards (676) and touchdowns (7) this season, developing into a favorite target of freshman quarterback Brad Kaaya. Walford's status for the bowl game is in question after having surgery following an injury sustained in the season finale against Pitt.

The last Miami Hurricane to receive AP All America honors was Kenny Phillips (third team) in 2007. To see this year's full AP All American team, click here.
