MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Another day of sweaters and boots for many South Floridians as temperatures dropped into the 40s and 50s overnight.

The cool weather is expected to last throughout the day with highs in the upper 60s with plenty of sunshine.

With northerly winds in place, lows Thursday night will reach the low to mid 50s near the coast and the low to mid 40s inland.

Expect to wake up again to chilly temperatures Friday morning—well below average, actually. The average low this time of year is 64 degrees and average high is 78 degrees.

Friday afternoon highs will be milder—near the 70s—and the warming trend will continue into the weekend as high pressure moves to the east and brings in more of an ocean breeze.

Lows will still be cool with the upper 50s and low 60s, however.

Saturday and Sunday highs will climb back to the mid to upper 70s.
