Local Trainer Gets VS Angel Ready For The Big Show

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) - One look at the Victoria Secret Angels on the catwalk, it's easy to see why the Fashion Show is called the sexiest show in the world.

But, as one would learn after talking to famed Angel Adriana Lima's personal trainer, it takes more than just good genes to make it to the Victoria Secret Fashion Show.

Dino Spencer trains Lima at the world famous 5th Street Gym in Miami Beach.

Spencer said that Lima is intense in her workouts. If she's supposed to be there at 10 a.m., she'll show up at 9:15 a.m. to extend her workout.

"It's a lot of hard work, a little bit of food, sleep and many rounds of boxing, jump rope, weights, anything you can think of," said Spencer.

She works as hard as any professional fighter he trains—maybe even harder.

"She's number one in the world. She works hard to stay that way. It's as intense as a pro athlete," said Spencer. "Their body is where they make their money, and this money is serious. So they have serious workouts."

When the stakes are high, Spencer's work hours extend beyond gym time, that's why he joined Lima in London for the show.

"She's the equivalent of a world champion at what she does. So I prepare her sleep, food, just like I would any other fighter," said Spencer.

While Lima may treat her workouts as serious business, outside the gym Spencer says Lima is a different person.

"Outside she's being a goofball," Spencer said of his famous client.
