ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) – Driving down the highway during the busy holiday season can be taxing. To help out drivers, the service plazas along Florida's Turnpike are offering free coffee breaks over the long holiday weekend.

The free coffee offer begins at 11 p.m. Wednesday and ends at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The offer will be in place again from 11 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. on Dec. 1.

Officials warn that traffic along the roadway may be heavy during peak travel times. The coffee will be available at the gas stations and the restaurants at each service plaza.

In addition, officials say the State Farm Safety Patrol Road Rangers will provide round-the-clock service in urban areas and will be in operation from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. south of Orlando and on other turnpike system limited access highways.
