BSO: Tourist Stabbed After Answering Sex Ad

LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA (CBSMiami) --  A 19-year old man is behind bars accused of stabbing a man who answered his internet ad soliciting  a sexual tryst.

Broward Sheriff's Deputies said Brandon Hinck, 19, posted a shirtless photo of himself on the internet, asking if someone wanted to meet him for sex on Tuesday.

Forty-six year old Dave Sero, a Washington resident vacationing in Florida, answered the ad and agreed to meet Hinck, according to deputies.

After the two had lunch, they drove to the Florida Beach Hotel in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea where they agreed to have sex, according to deputies.

While Sero was naked on the bed, detectives said, Hinck  started stabbing him.

The two fought and eventually ended up locked out of the room.

That's when Sero dashed towards the elevator while Hinck ran down the stairs and into the lobby uninjured but covered in blood.

Detectives said he told the front desk worker he had stabbed a man.

Hotel employees eventually found Sero, naked on the floor of the elevator in a pool of blood. Crews rushed him to Broward Health North with multiple stab injuries. No word on his condition.

Now, Hinck is charged with attempted murder.

Detectives believe he may have arrived to South Florida a few weeks ago, staying briefly in a halfway home and also at a local rehab.

Deputies are asking anyone who has had a violent encounter with Hinck to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
