MIAMI (CBSMiami) - When 6-foot-tall stunner Elle Macpherson enters the room, she simply owns it.

So it's no shock that Macpherson was the shining star at the recent opening of Stripsteak in the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, the hotel owned by her husband Jeff Soffer.

To top it off, Ocean Drive Magazine chose her to be their cover girl for November's issue.

"I'm hugely flattered to be on the cover of Ocean Drive, particularly as I just moved to Miami and this has been such a warm welcome," said Macpherson.

Miami has become Macpherson's new home.

"I'm Australian, so I love the humidity. I get off the plane and say I'm home. I love that," she said.

This past March, Macpherson hit a milestone – she turned 50. Chances are no one would guess it.

"What I found is over last 10 years is that there is a correlation of health, wellness and beauty. People say it's all age. They think only beauty and youth go together. I say wellness and beauty go together and that's been my experience because the better I feel the better I look," she said.

She said what's making her feel and look so good lately is a formula she co-created and is selling as part of her Welleco Wellness line called the Super Elixir.

"This wellness business is really a gift to myself on my 50th birthday. I said 'I'm going to start a business because I'm going to share this product because it really changed my life,'" she said.

Fans of Macpherson say she put the "super" in "supermodel."

She's appeared in every major fashion magazine and holds the record for gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue six times.

"That was a long time ago," said Macpherson.

"Honey, you can be on it right now," joked CBS4's Lisa Petrillo.

"I like to be active and sport is very important to me," said Macpherson.

Macpherson isn't just a supermodel, she is a super mom of five.

"Do your kids understand your career and who you were and who you are?" asked Petrillo.

"My son is nearly 17. He's 6'3" and he doesn't seem to mind having me as a mom. He's a good date because he's as tall as I am with heels," she said joking.

Macpherson has important advice for young girls, looking to make their mark in the world.

"What I say to young girls is to please finish school. Get an education because no matter what you do, being educated and being beautiful, being educated and happy, being educated and kind is a great combination."
