Trial Date Set For MLB Steroid Case

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — A trial date has been set for four men charged in connection to Major League Baseball's performance enhancing drugs scandal.
All four were involved with Biogenesis of America in Coral Gables operated by Anthony Bosch, who has already pleaded guilty and is cooperating with investigators. The clinic is now closed. The trial is set for Feb. 9th.

Among those scheduled to stand trial are Yuri Sucart, a cousin of New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, and former University of Miami pitching coach Lazaro "Laser" Collazo. They've pleaded not guilty to conspiring to distribute testosterone and human growth hormone.

Besides the criminal charges, the Biogenesis case resulted in suspensions by MLB of 14 players including a record season-long suspension for Rodriguez. Rodriguez admitted using banned substances earlier in his career with the Texas Rangers but not since.
