Transit Bus Becomes Wedged After Crash With SUV
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Miami-Dade Transit Bus was wedged between a pole and support column of the I-95 expressway Saturday following a crash.
It happened just after 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of NW 6th Street and NW 3rd Avenue involving the bus and a Ford SUV.
The Ford SUV ended up on top of an outer perimeter fence of the Miami Police Impound.
Officials said the SUV driver and five passengers on the bus were checked out for non life-threatening injuries.
Two bus passengers, an adult male and pregnant female, were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital complaining of head and neck pain.
All other passengers were placed on another bus.
According to the drivers, the MTA bus was traveling westbound on NW 6th Street and the Ford SUV was traveling northbound on NW 3rd Avenue when they collided.
The impact caused both vehicles to veer out control, traveling along the sidewalk and crash into the fence and post.
The bus driver tended to the frightened passengers until first responders arrived.
Miami Police is investigating.
