TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/AP) – In the final days of the governor’s race, former Gov. Charlie Crist is launching a “kitchen table” tour.

His focus is on individuals “struggling” with increased property insurance and utility rates, the Crist campaign said.  The Democratic candidate will also focus on the cuts to the state’s popular Bright Futures scholarship program.

Crist has vowed to cut insurance rates and restore funding to Bright Futures if elected.

Recent polls have shown that the race between Crist and Gov. Rick Scott is essentially tied.

Election Day is November 4th, but voters who vote by mail will soon be getting their absentee ballots. Early voting also begins in October.
