Police: Florida Uber Driver Arrested After Groping Woman

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — An Orlando driver for the Uber ride-sharing service is facing a battery charge after a woman says he placed his hand inside her shirt.

Police arrested 28-year-old Ramy Botros Wednesday after he was picked out by the woman in a photo lineup.

In an arrest affidavit, the woman said Botros picked her up and began driving around aimlessly while taking her to her destination. Botros later stopped his car and touched her breast. She protested and was dropped off.

Police say Botros confirmed the incident, telling authorities "in Egypt if girl like her" is attired like she was "it means she asking for that."

Uber spokesman Taylor Bennett said Botros's account has been suspended and Uber is "ready to assist authorities in any investigation."

Botros is currently free on bond.
