PLANTATION (CBSMiami) – Texting and driving don’t mix well.

A driver in Plantation found that out the hard way early Thursday morning.

Plantation firefighters tweeted out a picture of a single-car crash on University Drive and Northwest 5th Street that happened around 2 a.m.

The car was so severely damaged that rescuers had to cut the driver out of the vehicle.

The driver reportedly told the Plantation Fire Department they were texting and driving.

The person’s identity and condition were not known.
