Officials Find Second Gun In A Week At Miami International Airport

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – For the second time in a week, a firearm has been recovered at Miami International Airport.

The latest was confiscated from a female passenger while going through a checkpoint at Concourse D at 6 a.m. Thursday morning, officials with the airport said.

Officials said the woman was given a promise to appear in court and allowed to travel.

A loaded shotgun was found Monday inside one of the bathrooms at the airport.

The weapon was described as a pistol grip shotgun with five rounds loaded inside. In addition, two boxes of ammo were also recovered.

The source said the gun was wrapped in a towel and found inside a garbage can in the men's bathroom located near Concourse "D" before the security checkpoint.

The gun was discovered by airport custodian Rudolphe Guerrier.
