WESTON (CBSMiami) — Broward Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for a prisoner who escaped in Weston after being arrested on Thursday evening.

Deputies said they had arrested the suspect on a non violent warrant and the person was being taken to the district station.

At some point, the suspect and deputy scuffled and the suspect was able to get away while still handcuffed near 17300 Royal Palm Blvd.

The deputy was not injured.
