MIAMI (CBSMiami) — It’s official! There are only 100 days until Christmas. That means the countdown clock is on.

It’s hard to think about when you realize school just started a month ago.

South Florida’s sweltering heat is still making our hair frizz and summer storms are still rolling in practically every afternoon. But it’s true. Just take a look at the stores.

All 45 Sam’s Club stores across the state of Florida, Michaels in Kendall, and Hobby Lobby in Davie are just some of the retailers that started filling up their shelves with holiday gear in August.

Sam’s Club in Doral, since August 18th, has a 1400 square-foot area dedicated to Christmas; with indoor and outdoor lights for sale, tree ornaments, wrapping paper, ribbons, and candles lining shelves.

Another tell-tale sign that Santa isn’t far, just drive by Tropical Park. Thousands of sparkling, glittering, holiday lights are  going up for the annual Santa’s Enchanted Forest.

So whether you like it or not, it’s definitely beginning to feel a lot like Christmas around South Florida.
