Local Helps Catch "Person Of Interest" In Missing Woman Case
MIAMI (CBSMiami)-- A community member helped catch two people on the run, one considered a person of interest in the case of a missing woman.
Dwayne Day said he had seen Roy Blanco and his mother before possibly living under a bridge or in the woods, but it wasn't until Tuesday afternoon he realized they were the people deputies had been looking for.
He said he was sitting in his office, looking out the window when he saw them crawl out of the woods.

Day said the giveaway was their third traveler, a Siberian Husky.
"That completely gave it away. It doesn't belong in Key West. It's too hot. I'm like whoa Siberian Husky... They've been living in these woods over here and just came a couple of days ago," said Day.
Day said when he saw Blanco and his mother coming out the woods, he called 911 while following them on his bike but said they headed back for the woods once they saw deputies closing in on them.
"They rushed into the bushes ...they had nowhere to go because there is water on the other side and they were trapped so when they saw the deputies, they started swallowing pills as fast as they could, both of them," said Day. "They ran to try to stop them and tried to pry them out of the heir mouths but it looks like they swallowed a bunch."
Blanco and his mother ended up being rushed to the hospital, but Blanco who authorities said stabbed himself with a knife at one point didn't make it.
Just a few hours before, police found a badly decomposed body in the trunk of Blanco's ex-girlfriend Tanya Gonzalez's car. It was a blue BMW parked on the side of the road in the city of Miami, not far away from Blanco's home.

Gonzalez's father was seen sprinting to his daughter's car but was stopped by police. Her mother was also there crying hysterically.
Investigators have not yet been able to identify the body, but Gonzalez has been missing since last Tuesday.
Her parents, who suspected foul play from the beginning now believe their worst case scenario may be a reality.
One that Day, a father of three girls, said breaks his heart.
"I feel sorry for the mother and father who had such a tragic loss.I wouldn't want to go through what he is going through," said Day.
