Edouard Forecast To Become A Major Hurricane
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Edouard is nearing category 3 hurricane strength as it continues to trek north-northwest across the Atlantic.
At 5:00 p.m., Edouard was located about 520 miles east-southeast of Bermuda with maximum sustained winds of 110 miles per hour.
It was moving toward the northwest near 13 mph. The National Hurricane Center says Edouard may become a major hurricane Tuesday.
Hurricane Edouard is forecast to take a turn to the north on Tuesday and turn to the northeast by Tuesday night.
There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

Hurricane Edouard is the fifth named tropical storm of the current Atlantic hurricane season and the fourth hurricane.
The last time that name was used was in 2008, when Tropical Storm Edouard came ashore in Texas. The storm was blamed for one death and minor coastal flooding.
