Hialeah Double Stabbing Suspect Found Hiding On Boat In Keys

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) – Police said they have arrested a man who stabbed two women in Hialeah Wednesday.

Police were searching for 25-year-old Ernest Herrada-Cordova and located him Thursday afternoon in the Florida Keys.

According to officers, the victims drove themselves to Hialeah Hospital for medical attention.

Police went to Cordova's home, however, he had already left the location.

Officials said Cordova was found near Geiger Key hiding in the engine compartment of a boat anchored offshore by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at 12:30 p.m.

He was allegedly planning to flee to Cuba to avoid arrest.

Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida Highway Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard and Customs and Border Protection officers.

The U.S. Marshals Service responded to serve the warrant and take him into custody. He has been returned to Hialeah to face the charges.
