With over 2000 unique plants and animals, the Florida Everglades is the ideal field trip locale, filled with exploration, excitement and tremendous learning opportunities. Children enjoy hands-on learning and educators can more successfully introduce difficult concepts like conservation and preservation when students can experience for themselves the incredible fauna and flora of this tropical wetland. The Everglades is a friendly, fun environment where children are actually excited to learn and educators are delighted to experience the wonders of the environment together with their students.
Keeping It Fun
Kids love fun, clearly. There’s no doubt, the more fun something is the more likely they are to remember it. For kids of all ages, what is more fun than face-to-face encounters with wildlife or a high-speed airboat ride across shallow water? Imagine their faces when a 10-foot alligator peeks its head above water or a brightly colored tropical snake slithers past the group. Keeping it fun at Everglades Holiday Park is always easy and that’s the beauty of a class field trip. After the airboat portion of the trip concludes, students will enjoy a 15-20 minute presentation with live alligators. Animal planet’s Gator Boys keep everyone entertained and on their feet with a great show. Plus, they do a fantastic job of providing expert information about the American alligator, the surrounding ecosystem and the importance of Everglades preservation efforts.
